Students continue to do a fantastic job analyzing poetry and determining the theme. It is vital that students include specific support from the text in order to demonstrate proficiency In order to help students keep responses on track, students have brainstormed a list of helpful sentence starters to direct them back to the poem (or text) as they respond:

- An example from the text is...
We will wrap up the 3rd quarter by exploring the characteristics of graphic novels. All of our students have been fantastic when it comes to flexibility - with snow days and assessments we are not exactly sure what we will accomplish and frequently students are working on various activities at once.
