Last week, students created detailed blueprints to show how they would use the materials (straws, masking tape, and a paper cup) to keep an egg safe.  After collaborating with fellow "engineers", students used flexible thinking to make adaptations to their designs.  This week students will be given time to finish the construction of their egg drop structure.  It is also important to keep in mind that the total weight of the structure, including the egg, cannot exceed 100g.
We look forward to testing these designs on Wednesday.  Any structures that survive the drop from 5, 10, and 15 feet will then be put to the ultimate test...a drop from the school roof on Thursday!
Stay tuned for some "egg"citing updates and the result of this challenge.
