Students will identify the characteristics of these celestial objects and determine how they are alike and different. Students will also learn what happens when objects enter the earth's atmosphere! What is the real name for a "shooting star"? Ask your fifth grader!
We will explore constellations next as we identify observable patterns within the night sky. Students will also explain why these constellations are visible at different times of the year by drawing on their previous knowledge about the revolution and rotation of the earth.
