Each student selected a topic that he/she found interesting.  After exploring and narrowing down the topic, each student formed his/her own specific opinion.  Students are in the process of paraphrasing notes about their topic and will then do research to support the opinion they made.  For instance, a student who is interested in sports may form the opinion that a particular athlete is the most talented or that a particular team is the most popular.

After gathering notes, students will have the choice to use the chrome book to complete a color-coded rough draft before publishing or using a packet like 5th graders have used during the first part of the year to organize their ideas.
