This week students will select a nonrenewable and renewable energy source to compare for our informative essay. Students will also have the option to include more than one of each type of energy source; however, it is important that they take the time to explain the information carefully. After examining a variety of "hooks", or introduction sentences, students will learn the elements that should be included in introduction paragraph. After "hooking" readers, students will explain how renewable and nonrenewable energy sources are different, then highlight the specific energy sources that they will focus on in their writing.
