are the narrative focus for the start of the second marking period.  After brainstorming a variety of words to describe some of nature's wonders (rainbows, thunderstorms, stars, the sun, etc.), students will begin to plan a myth that explains the way something is / how it came to be.  Students will incorporate characteristics of myths, and complete a story map to help organize their ideas.  We can't wait to see what creative ideas our fifth graders come up with!
