will be the focus of instruction over the next two weeks. After introducing characteristics of the mystery genre, students will have the chance to determine if our featured text, Grandpa's Teeth is considered a mystery. This short and comical story allows us to explore mysteries while still providing enough instructional time for guided reading groups. In addition to literature circles in guided reading groups, students will use close reading strategies to read informational text. Students will identify how concepts are related to one another, as well as identifying the main idea within the text.

This week students will use their knowledge of plays to explore a play based on either the Greensboro Sit In or the Women's Rights Convention at Seneca Falls. After identifying the historical information within the plays, students will make inferences about the characters and determine the theme of the play.
