Informative Reading is Back!

Now that we are done examining informational poetry, students will focus on text structure.  Students will read a variety of texts on two topics.  We will begin with bees and then conclude with informational reading about bats.  With both topics students will examine multiple sources and collect evidence to answer a specific question.  It will be important to keep in mind the viewpoint of each source, as that may affect how the information is presented.
 

Welcome back from break!!

April 12, 2015
Students will get back in to the school routine by revisiting the Junior Great Books Story, The Hundred Dollar Bill.  Students will create questions and participate in discussion groups.  This story will also be used to help students answer questions by providing specific support from the text.  In small groups, students will continue to explore a variety of poetry and identify various literary elements.
